This application can be a great fun if you just want to tease your friends or want to teach them a lesson for giving you missed calls. With the coming of 1Paisa Per Second scheme on almost all the mobile networks in India, this application can never cost you anything since even if someone picks up the call, then too you'll only be charge 1paisa, and by using this application, the chances of your call being picked is negligible.(8 in 1000)

How to use it

Right now this is just a shell script written in python but still it works great, here's how you can get this code to work:

1. Install Python: at first, install Python for series 60 on your cellphone.(You can download it from sourceforge)
2. Install Python Shell: Now Install the unsigned shell version from that same page appropriate for your phone(but sign it with the certificate specifically for your phone before installing)
3. Copy the Miss Call Dabster Code(Click here to download) to your cellphone
4. Open Python Shell in your cellphone
5. Select run script in the options
6. Select the Script you copied above
7. Press Up Arrow key start entering the phone number of the victim or test subject
8. Now tell it how many times you want to give him/her missed calls
9. Put the phone aside and continue your work till the missed calls are being made
10. In case you got pity on the victim and want to stop giving him/her missed calls then press the RED END KEY (the one with which you usually disconnect calls) to terminate the execution of the application
11. If in case the program gives error messages after giving the number instead of dialing then press the Down Arrow Key to reset the configurations and then press the Up Arrow Key again

Now you may ask what “email harvesters” are; basically these may be people or automated programs that collect email addresses of other people generally to sell to spammers and advertising agencies(and you wonder how the spammer got your email id, you gave it to him).

You must be wondering that if forwarding cause that much trouble then I might say you should stop forwarding, but this is not the case, the email providers have devised ways to properly forward emails without any email being shown to anyone else and I am going to mention that only in this post so that you can forward emails safely.

Forwarding Emails:

1. You got an email from your friend that you want to forward(or you created one by yourself).
2. Just delete anyone’s email id present in that mail(as soon as you click the forward button, a header containing the info regarding to who sent it to you is placed, just remove that header completely so that no-ones email id is disclosed).
3. Write your own email address in the “To” field(yes your own, will tell you later in the post about these fields).
4. Now write all the email addresses you want the mail to be forwarded to in the “BCC” field.(This means Blind Carbon Copy, it will also be explained)
5. Press the send button and your safe forwarded email is on its way to your friends.

By using this method, every recipient will get only his/her email id in the email and your too but not anyone else.

Now The Fields in the email form

1. TO
   You write the email address of the person to whom the email is designated to.
2. CC
   (Carbon Copy)This is almost the same as TO except that it says CC and in this also, all the email addresses in the TO and CC fields are disclosed to everyone receiving the email.
3. BCC
   (Blind Carbon Copy)In this field you write the email addresses of the people who’ll receive the copy of the email but no-one’s email address in the BCC will be disclosed to anyone(only FROM, TO and CC fields will be displayed to everyone and in the above procedure, FROM and TO fields contains your ID only)

(For better definitions refer to some good sites like Wikipedia since I don’t know the definitions)

So from now onwards, take care that if you forward any email to me, make sure to write my email in the BCC field because I don’t like any spam emails in my mailbox saying me to buy viagra, breast enhancement creams, pen** enlargement drugs, muscle building drugs or something like that…

This book helped me a lot(a lot), to stay connected even in my classroom .
I used to sit on the first bench in the class, yet no teacher had ever found me surfing on the net in the book(I used Nokia 7710 for surfing that time).
My whole bag was investigated quite a few times in the classroom by several teachers but yet I was never caught bringing my cellphone in the school.

• Appearance: Not good, seems like very delicate piece, not at all a fashionable design even though they give two extra back covers, all sucks(every one has a different outlook for looks, but don’t just believe what you see in the images)




• Sound:
  1. Loudspeaker:Very low volume in comparison to what you can get in the price tag it has. The bass sounds like treble effect and you can’t distinguish drum beats, though the music with just chimes and bells rings awesome. Talking on loudspeaker is easy though as the clarity of voice is good on loudspeaker. Still the stereo quality of the loudspeakers is good.
  2. Headset:Loud enough that you can listen the caller easily, can say good one.
  3. Earphones:The 3.5 mm jack provided on the top of the phone connects the earphones, the ones that came with it sounds excellent. Tried my PC headphones too, best music quality. Similar to the apple iPod
  4. Volume Shifter: Only 10 sound levels to choose from and some songs(specially the Titanic songs) sound too low on one level and too high at the right next level. Could have been better volume shifter if it would be like the iPod.




• Keypad: At first you might have some difficulty in finding out the keys but the design of keys is new and your hands will pick it up in a day or two and you would be typing faster than your previous phone.(still not faster than a touchscreen). Excellent placement of keys on the keypad and overall good.




• Screen: Just like other N series handsets, i.e. a good one with a resolution of 240×320. Movies run great in this and the colors are bright and the contrast is good. Viewable in sunlight too(some screens cant b seen in sunlight so thought it should be mentioned).




• FM-Transmitter: Yes buddies, this is transmitter and not just receiver. Now you can transmit your fav songs to your cars FM or your woofer system without attachments or need of bluetooth or wifi. Just start the transmitter and play the song. Experimented by playing a song on my device and played it simultaneously on 5 different mobile devices in college. Sounded pretty good as the volume of the song was greatly increased by using so many mobiles at the same time. Will experiment with the car stereo soon.




• Navi-Wheel: At first I started using it like the iPod Navi Wheel and it didn’t worked well, but then I realized my mistake and found that only the center of the Navi-Wheel is sensing my touch and not the whole Wheel as in iPod, so tried using it that way, it worked out perfectly. Very useful in scrolling loooong list of music and games menu and video songs etc etc.




• Breathing Effect: The blinking of a circular ring around the center button that kinda seem like the phone is breathing. Very attractive and can be seen even in the daylight.




• Auto Rotate: Seem to be the worst thing in the mobile as the mobile almost hangs when we turn the screen upside down and many times it makes wrong guess about the screen position and rotates randomly and sometimes gives delayed response. I needed to turn off this feature to use this mobile properly




• Battery Backup: Good Battery Backup with 1200mAh (for your comparison the most widely used BL 5C is only 850mAh). Didn’t discharged for three days in normal usage(listen a few songs and tested the videos etc). Fast charging, if charged regularly then it will only need 15 to 20 min to completely charge using its original charger(at first I thought the pin is same and used another nokia charger of my sister’s phone, but it didn’t charged completely after 3 hours, then I saw the ratings on the adapters and found that it wasn’t even providing enough current to charge the battery, so only use the charger that comes with it).




• Integrated GPS: Thanks to the Integrated GPS that you won’t need to buy another bluetooth GPS device to navigate maps through your phone. Works well outdoors but don’t catch any signal indoors.




• Camera: Either I haven’t yet figured out right configuration or the camera is not as good as the site says it is. with my cybershot, I can get much better pictures even in 2MP than what I get in 5MP of this phone’s camera.




• Speed: Runs the applications fast enough, though takes a looong time to open big images(it will open but will take time to get it to the resolution you have zoomed it, means when you’l zoom an image, you might think that its clarity is gone, but after about 5 to 10 sec, the clarity of the image will be restored). It even plays the VGA quality videos(640×480) as if its meant for it though for better quality, you might need to get the vids of 25 FPS to 30 FPS using a converter(the one that comes with it is slow but the quality is best). Slows down if the autorotate is on and you turned the screen, sometimes the vids even hangs.




• Hold Key: The hold key provided on the top of the phone is quite good and handy for frequent usage. Seems to be the most used key(slider key) on the phone by me.




• Storage: Comes with 4GB micro SD card, enough to store all your fav songs onto your mobile phone

This step-change in capacity could pave the way for a new generation of electric cars, mobile phones and laptops.

The research work, funded by the Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council (EPSRC), is being led by researchers at the University of St Andrews with partners at Strathclyde and Newcastle.

The new design has the potential to improve the performance of portable electronic products and give a major boost to the renewable energy industry. The batteries will enable a constant electrical output from sources such as wind or solar, which stop generating when the weather changes or night falls.

Improved capacity is thanks to the addition of a component that uses oxygen drawn from the air during discharge, replacing one chemical constituent used in rechargeable batteries today. Not having to carry the chemicals around in the battery offers more energy for the same size battery. Reducing the size and weight of batteries with the necessary charge capacity has been a long-running battle for developers of electric cars.

The STAIR (St Andrews Air) cell should be cheaper than today’s rechargeables, too. The new component is made of porous carbon, which is far less expensive than the lithium cobalt oxide it replaces.

This four-year research project, which reaches its halfway mark in July, builds on the discovery at the university that the carbon component’s interaction with air can be repeated, creating a cycle of charge and discharge. Subsequent work has more than tripled the capacity to store charge in the STAIR cell.

Principal investigator on the project, Professor Peter Bruce of the Chemistry Department at the University of St Andrews, says: “Our target is to get a five to ten fold increase in storage capacity, which is beyond the horizon of current lithium batteries. Our results so far are very encouraging and have far exceeded our expectations.”

“The key is to use oxygen in the air as a re-agent, rather than carry the necessary chemicals around inside the battery,” says Bruce.

The oxygen, which will be drawn in through a surface of the battery exposed to air, reacts within the pores of the carbon to discharge the battery. “Not only is this part of the process free, the carbon component is much cheaper than current technology,” says Bruce. He estimates that it will be at least five years before the STAIR cell is commercially available.

The project is focused on understanding more about how the chemical reaction of the battery works and investigating how to improve it. The research team is also working towards making a STAIR cell prototype suited, in the first instance, for small applications, such as mobile phones or MP3 players.
